MY STORY

EVANGELISM through Music & Video
Benito and his family. He's teaching them all to play instruments so they'll be a family music group who sings Christian songs in Ixil. Actually, they are a music group right now. They play for churches and parties.

MUSIC ~ This group of Ixil musicians sings Scripture and Christian songs in Ixil using Andean-style music. My greatest joy is seeing this Christian music group become close to self sustaining. True Ixil leadership has developed. Members of the group still change from time to time, but the leadership continues. The group does not ask for, but usually receives offerings when they perform. They generally use this  money for travel expenses and items such as guitar and charango cords. This helps them to be financially independent except for large expenses. They're currently saving money to purchase their own sound equipment.

Wycliffe Bible Translators was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend. A missionary to the Cakchiquel Indians of Guatemala, Townsend had caught the vision for translation when a Cakchiquel man challenged him: "If your God is so great, why doesn’t He speak in my language?"
